To encourage excellence in education by promoting and funding effective programs and ideas in the Terrell Independent School District.

Programs

Career and Technical Initiatives  will enhance programs that provide real-life work experiences by addressing needs that may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  •  Student and/or teacher internships in fields such as health care, manufacturing, construction, engineering and computer technology.

  • State of the art equipment and required supplies to support student experiences in tomorrow's workplace.

  • Student aptitude assessment and counseling to determine interest and employment opportunity.

Advanced Learning Initiatives will provide funds for programs that inspire students to reach beyond the classroom and engage in rigorous academic pursuits and may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Dual Credit Scholarships in partnership with local community colleges and technical schools.

  • Summer Academic Camps such as NASA Space Camp or math, robotics, and fine arts camps.

  • Literary and Fine Arts Experiences such as Visiting Authors and Artists in Residence.

Professional Development Initiatives will provide opportunities for staff to participate in staff development activities that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Specialized teacher training to augment instruction in critical curriculum areas such as math, science, reading, social studies and languages.

  • Advanced and innovative training to further engage students in the learning process.

  •  Master Teacher Certification offered through accredited universities.

Future Program

District Initiatives will provide funds for district-wide initiatives that address specific priorities aligning with the District's Strategic Plan such as the following:

  • Curriculum & Instructional Development that impacts all students.

  • State of the Art Technology and additional reading and reference material for library improvement.
